Step 1: The Consult


​We start with a free strategy call to lock in your brand, your castable types, and the kind of scenes that will actually move your career forward. If you’re aiming for reps, we’ll talk about the exact footage that makes agents and managers say yes.


Step 2: Lock it in


Once we confirm your package and scene ideas and confirm the total rate, you’ll place a retainer to secure your spot and get the ball rolling.


Step 3: Script & Casting


​If you don’t have a script, our writers create one that positions you perfectly. If you do, we’ll shape it for screen impact. We’ll also line up locations and any supporting actors (always with your approval). By the time shoot day arrives, everything is dialed in.


Step 4: "Action!"


​This is where the magic happens. We rehearse, light, block, and shoot from multiple angles with pro-grade gear — so you look like you belong on TV, not on YouTube. Each scene takes a few hours, giving plenty of time for takes that feel alive, cinematic, and bookable.


Step 5: The Final Cut


​Within 1–2 weeks, you’ll have fully edited, color-graded, sound-designed footage. We trim to your strongest moments, but you get final say with notes and revisions. When you approve, we deliver in ready-to-upload formats for Actors Access, Backstage, and more.

MARTIN BENTSEN
​on-set acting coach & founder


I founded Scenematic Studios to solve a problem I’ve seen for over a decade: actors investing thousands in demo reels that don’t get them booked. Through my actor consulting work, I’ve helped clients land recurring TV roles and even Broadway. My headshot and reel work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and on billboards in Times Square.

I graduated with honors in film production from NYU in 2011, and have written, directed, and produced two feature-length films, along with numerous shorts. I also write regularly for Casting Networks News and interview agents, casting directors, and Broadway actors.

Every month, actors tell us their Scenematic reel helped them land a dream role, sign with an agent, or finally start booking consistently. That’s why we do this work: to create footage that doesn’t just look cinematic — but that changes careers.


MANU PASQUALINI
on-set acting coach


Manu Pasqualini is an NYC-trained actor who enjoys coming of age movies, dramedies and PTSD-based stories. He is also drawn to VO work which helps transcend type-cast.

Manu speaks French, English, Spanish, Italian and conversational Arabic. 

He admires actors who make him care about a villain and feel the pain hiding in their motives. It makes them human. His ideal role is a man from the people who goes rogue after a personal tragedy and starts a rebellion against the establishment.

Manu trained at the TSchreiber studio in Shakespeare, and with Allen Savage in NYC. He is now at the Anthony Abeson studio.


​J WARNER
shooter & editor

J Warner specializes in shooting and directing. He also takes scenes through to completion in the post-production/editing process.

J Warner is a filmmaker and editor, originally from Los Angeles. He began his career in 2001 as an Apprentice Film Editor at Paramount Pictures, and as such was the last person trained on film in the studio system before digital took hold.

Since then, he has worked on a wide array of digital shorts, concert films, music videos, trailers and promotional spots. He also worked as assistant editor on the 2013 indie feature Deadly Revisions , as well as serving as production coordinator on The Simpsons: The Longest Daycare , which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short. After that, J shot and edited many projects for Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisperer), including a feature-length training DVD, "Essentials of Dog Behavior: Socialization." 

Most recently, J spent three years doing digital restoration and as Assistant Editor for a soon-to-be-released documentary about Frank Zappa, as well as editing video montage pieces for the "Bizarre World of Frank Zappa" hologram show. He's currently editing a narrative feature called Dakota, directed by Martin Bentsen.


JANELLE GONZALEZ
client relations & makeup artist


Janelle discovered her passion for makeup at age 13, experimenting with family members and quickly realizing the confidence a brush could bring. She has since honed her craft to highlight natural beauty while capturing the essence of each client.

​Now based in New York, Janelle brings her artistry to Scenematic Studios and City Headshots, where she works with clients of all backgrounds to ensure they look and feel camera-ready.


GERALD MCCLANAHAN

​As one of the founding members of the renowned LA-based theatre company Sacred Fools (now in its 25th year), I began my career writing for the stage.

Since then, my work has spanned the gamut from theatre to short films to television series to full-length screenplays. As well, I have worked in publishing as an editor. I currently live and work in Portland, Oregon.


PAUL PLUNKETT

Paul began acting as a child in New Mexico, appearing in westerns including Butch and Sundance: The Early Days as Butch Cassidy’s son. His early experiences on set sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling that led him to pursue both acting and writing. Now an accomplished playwright and screenwriter, Paul’s work is informed by his years as a performer — he knows first-hand that a reel scene must spotlight the actor, not the script.
​
After college, Paul spent time in New York and Seattle before settling in California, where he has lived for over 25 years with his wife, Tifanie, and their two cats. From his base in Los Angeles, Paul writes original, tailor-made scenes for Scenematic Studios clients nationwide. He takes pride in creating material that feels authentic, cinematic, and most importantly, bookable.
