- May undervalue herself and allow the Beloved to undervalue her
- Undervaluing may lead herself to be more shy, timid, and not put herself out there like she should
- A bit dorky, not the best dresser, a Plain Jane
- Difficult or impossible for her to completely put herself on the line for anything, even the Beloved's affections, which makes them getting together very difficult indeed
- Doesn't push herself to achieve; maybe a little too safe in life

- Practical, pragmatic, has her head screwed on right, safe and sweet, considerate, kind, responsible
- Inherently likable and sympathetic -- the audience identifies with her struggle
- Someone that's always been right before the Protagonist's eyes (or is The Protagonist)
- Isn't worried about being impressive, flashy, impressive or exciting 
- Comfortable with just being herself and living the life she wants to live
- Vying for romantic attention, which make take the Beloved a second to recognize
- Once her value is recognized, it's clear to the Beloved that she's the best person for him
- Has a longstanding bond with the Beloved-- childhood friends, neighbors, good friends, etc
- Loyal to the very end, even if the Beloved is being a blind idiot
- Team player always willing to help others -- giving of herself and her energies
- Plenty of potential to grow into a fully mature, assertive person with a golden heart (the real deal)
